Chiropractic is a health care system that focuses on the body's ability to heal itself. In order for the body to do so, it must be able to communicate with itself properly through the nervous system. Sometimes the joints of the spine do not move properly, and the nerves that pass through the spine can be compromised. The lack of communication between the brain and the body results in an improperly functioning body. A Chiropractic "adjustment" or "correction" is used to normalize the function of spinal joints resulting in a nervous system that has no interference.

Upper Cervical Chiropractic is a specialty that focuses on the upper neck region. The two upper neck bones are anatomically different from the rest of the spine and therefore require a greater depth of analysis. More importantly, the upper cervical spine protects part of the brainstem, the small area of the brain that regulates almost all body function.

Although a majority of my patients initially see me for neck complaints (especially after an auto accident), many have found other symptoms resolve, such as headaches, ringing in the ears, vertigo, and fibromyalgia to name a few.

What is "Upper Cervical" Chiropractic?
